The Halls Creek Project (HCP) is an exciting and highly prospective gold and base metal exploration project, located in the historic gold and base metals mining province of the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.
The HCP comprises thirteen granted tenements spanning 657 km2, hosting known gold and base metal surface mineralisation. A number of high-priority targets and new prospective zones have been identified, including the Lady Helen gold-silver prospect where very high grades were returned from early exploration work. A recent airborne magnetic survey identified numerous high priority targets prospective for gold and base metal mineralisation.
Similar styles of epithermal to mesothermal gold mineralisation has been located at Lady Helen and Townsite prospects within the tenements, west of Halls Creek. Prospecting in the 1970-80’s identified significant high grades of between 10 to 60 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold on the project area. The potential of the project is exemplified by Pantoro Resources Limited’s (ASX: PNR) Nichols Find operations in close proximity to the HCP.
In December 2019, Hexagon completed a detailed aeromagnetic survey and target generation program. This identified major regional structures controlling the location of new targets and providing geological context to enable the ranking of pre-existing targets. Geophysical survey and interpretational work has greatly enhanced the commercial and technical appeal of the project.
